The Legacy Guild announces additions to Executive Board
(Western Springs, IL) – The Legacy Guild, which provides college scholarship and mentoring to local students who have lost a parent, announces additions to their Executive Board.
The organization is proud to welcome Brian Dwyer (La Grange Park) and Joanna Mattia (La Grange Park) as new members to the Legacy Guild Executive Board.
Brian Dwyer has been a La Grange Park resident since 2007 along with his wife Cheri, and his 4 children Colin, Caitlyn, Caden and Connor. Brian graduated from Eastern Illinois University (2000) and University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2012). He is a member of the Global Banking and Markets Division of Goldman Sachs & Co.
“I am sincerely blessed to be joining the Legacy Guild Executive Board. Personally, I was drawn to this organization by firsthand experiences in my family that made it abundantly clear how life can change in an instant and tomorrow is promised to no one. As a member of the Legacy Guild Scholarship Committee over the past two years I have had the honor of participating in this truly important mission. Young people who experience the loss of a parent need the support of their community. The Legacy Guild accomplishments in scholarship and mentorship are outstanding. I am keen to contribute to this great work as a member of the Executive Board.”
Joanna Mattia has resided in La Grange Park with her husband Terry and their three sons since 2013. The majority of her career has been with Northern Trust (almost 18 years) in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Project and Change Management, and Corporate Marketing. Joanna is a graduate of Indiana University and DePaul’s Kellstadt School of Business.
For the last four years, Joanna has led sessions for Legacy Guild Scholars focusing on Campus Recruiting, the Job/Intern Search and Interviewing. She enjoys working with students and alums on resume reviews and connecting them with Mentors in the community.
“I am honored to join the Board, as well as leading the newly formed Mentoring Committee. During my years working with the Legacy Guild, I have forged relationships with Scholars (current and alum), parents, the Board, and Committee members which I truly value. Working with, and learning from, our great group of Scholars has enriched my life, and I look forward to continuing to collaborate with Scholars and the Board on initiatives around Mentoring, Events and Scholarship. I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible organization.”
Ryan Williamson, Legacy Guild President, commented, “We are appreciative of the contributions that Brian and Joanna have already made to our organization and welcome them to our Board. We look forward to the additional positive impact that both of them will make.”
