The Legacy Guild teams up with The LeaderShop to raise over $60K net for local students
The Legacy Guild announced today that it raised more than $60,000 net at its’ September 24, 2020 golf outing held at the La Grange Country Club. This year proceeds from the fundraiser will be split with The LeaderShop, another local organization which supports youth in our area. Early this summer, The Legacy Guild reached out to The LeaderShop to offer their support since The LeaderShop had to cancel their annual benefit fundraiser due to the pandemic.
The 9th annual golf event had to be scaled down a bit this year but the fun and camaraderie were just as strong. There were 25 foursomes of golfers that hit the course on a beautiful sunny day. Box lunches and drinks were provided and dinner certificates to restaurants were purchased to support our local small businesses and given to each golfer.
“In addition to raising money for local students, this golf event is a wonderful way for people in our community to connect and bond together for a good cause,” commented Bill Carney, Legacy Guild President. He added, “We were fortunate to host our big fundraiser in February and wanted to team up with another charity who wasn’t as fortunate to split the proceeds for this outing.”
Gabriela Miller, Director of Development at The LeaderShop said, “The LeaderShop was humbled to be invited. This partnership was a beautiful example of teamwork and an organization choosing to be resilient during such a difficult year. Not only was The Legacy Guild continuing to drive their mission forward, but they also chose to support another organization in need.”
The Legacy Guild has now provided over one million dollars in college scholarship awards to 177 students since its inception in 2012.
